Patient Programs

The Oklahoma Brain Tumor Foundation is an outpatient mental health provider.  We work with families who have a family member who has been diagnosed with a primary brain or central nervous system tumor. The challenges facing one family may be different than the challenges faced by another family.  We will work with you to address the challenges and needs your family is facing.  We will work to put a plan in place to address those needs and will work hand-in-hand as a part of your health care team to improve your quality of life and your ability to survive and thrive.

The following are some of the services we provide:

Counseling: Our Licensed Professional Counselors can work with your and your family to address any of the issues and challenges that you may be facing such as: anxiety, depression, crisis diversion, substance abuse, panic attacks, behavioral issues, emotional and psychiatric disorders, etc.

Patient Navigation/Case Management Services:  Our Patient Navigators can work with you and your family to help you navigate complex system such as Social Security, social services, health insurance, Department of Human Services, your health care team, health care access issues, mental health systems, special education, and can help link you to sevices within the community to help address complex and diverse social challenges.  Some of those challenges are listed below.

Financial Assistance: The OKBTF assists primary brain and central nervous system tumor families with financial assistance for doctor co-pays, insurance premiums, prescriptions, utilities, rent, mortgage, transportation needs, etc. If you are struggling financially, let us help you make ends meet. Families must schedule a Family Needs Assessment and a determination of financial need must be met.

Education: The OKBTF helps educate patients, caregivers, family members and friends through a variety of different resources. We have printed material available and resource links on our website regarding a variety of different issues. Brain tumor families may have questions regarding.

Computer Donation Program: The OKBTF’s computer donation program donates computers to families who meet our financial needs qualifications who do not have a computer to meet their needs at home. We can also assist with providing internet access.

Advocacy: Let us work on your behalf with the Social Security Administration, the school system, your employer, doctors, hospital or insurance company to help alleviate any stressful situations that may be occurring. Our patient advocates can act as a liaison to help overcome any issues that may arise.

Prescription Assistance Program: The OKBTF can help get you approved for prescription assistance through major pharmaceutical companies if you do not have health insurance and meet their financial qualifications for assistance. Give us a call and let us work for you!
